Due to overwhelming demand, HSNY’s annual Gala will move from the Harvard Club to The Plaza Hotel in 2025. With its vast space, The Plaza Hotel’s Grand Ballroom will make it possible for many more of HSNY’s members, sponsors and friends to attend.

The Plaza Hotel is a National Historic Landmark, New York City Landmark, and is well known for Truman Capote's Black and White Ball, held in 1966.

Scholarships

In 2024, HSNY awarded a sum of $150,000 to 25 watchmaking students and 4 watchmaking schools across the country. The winners of HSNY’s 2025 scholarships and award programs will be announced at the Gala:

• The Andre Bibeau Scholarship for Veteran Watchmaking Students

• Henry B. Fried Scholarship for Watchmaking Students

• Grace Fryer Scholarship for Female Watchmaking Students

• Charles London Scholarship for Watchmaking Students

• Howard Robbins Award for Watchmaking Schools

• Charles Sauter Scholarship for Innovation in Horology

• Oscar Waldan Scholarship for Jewish Watchmaking Students

• Simon Willard Award for School Watches

Auction

HSNY’s annual charity auction plays a vital role in supporting the future of watchmaking education. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the charity auction benefit HSNY’s ongoing educational initiatives, including supporting watchmaking students with scholarships. The annual auction is supported by Christie’s, Phillips, and Sotheby’s and is hosted in a rotating format. For 2025, the auction will be hosted by Christie’s. A Lifetime Membership Card, hand-engraved and engine-turned by Brittany Nicole Cox, will be among the items offered for sale.

Food, DrinK & Music

Cocktail Hour
From 6-7pm, with open bar, hors d'oeuvres and live music. Red carpet photo opportunity upon arrival.

Dinner
Seated dinner beginning at 7pm in the Grand Ballroom.

After Party
In the Grand Ballroom until late, with open bar and live music.

Attire
Black tie.
