Auction will take place at the HSNY 2025 Gala on Saturday, March 22
The Horological Society of New York's annual charity auction plays a vital role in supporting the future of watchmaking education. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the charity auction benefit HSNY’s ongoing educational initiatives, including supporting watchmaking students with scholarships. The annual auction is supported by Christie’s, Phillips, and Sotheby’s and is hosted in a rotating format. For 2025, the auction will be hosted by Christie’s.
Lot 1: Custom Safari Jacket, Donated by The Armoury
The Armoury’s Safari Jacket, with its clean design and functionality, has been an Armoury essential for over a decade. The waist pockets feature gussets and bellows, while two internal chest pockets bring the total count to six. The jacket features two action back pleats for even more freedom of movement, and a collar with a dramatic presence that frames the wearer's face. Made in the fabric of your choice, this jacket is sure to become a staple in your wardrobe.*

Lot 2: Reverso Discovery Workshop, Donated by Jaeger-LeCoultre
Enjoy a private, six seat Reverso Discovery Workshop at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Atelier d ’Antoine located at their new Madison flagship boutique (701-703 Madison Avenue).
Discovery Workshops are a unique opportunity to explore the world of Swiss fine watchmaking in a new way, blending academic education and hands-on experience. Hosted by an instructor and a technical expert, participants will deep dive into the Reverso archives and go hands-on with a variety of models.

Lot 3: New York Knicks Tickets with Eric Wind, Donated by Brett Walsdorf
Eric Wind is one of the world’s leading experts on vintage watches. Eric founded and owns Wind Vintage, a company he started in 2017 that is dedicated to offering exceptional watches for sale at all price points and providing advisory services to top vintage watch collectors around the world. Eric previously served as Vice President, Senior Specialist for Christie's where he helped lead the sale of a number of important watches at auction around the world and through private sales.

Lot 4: An Oris ProPilot Altimeter Watch and Four Premium New York Yankees Tickets, Donated by Oris
Oris, the Official Luxury Watch of the New York Yankees, donates four premium seat tickets to a game during the 2025 season. Game subject to availability and will be at a mutually decided game.
The Oris ProPilot Altimeter watch is innovative, lightweight, legible and loaded with functions. Its built-in altimeter can gauge altitude to 19,700 feet, while its 47 mm carbon fibre case means the watch weighs just 98 grammes.

Lot 5: Triple-Four Limited Edition Racing Chronograph Watch, Donated by Brooklands Watch Company
A Brooklands Watch Company Triple-Four Limited Edition Racing Chronograph Watch (41mm diameter), designed by Sir Terence Conran. Born in 1931, Sir Terence Conran remembered his father going to the races at Brooklands, as well as his mother learning to fly at the Flying Club. Nearly 80 years later, he relished the opportunity to design a watch with his father in mind.
Limited to 500 pieces, each individually numbered, the watch's exhibition back reveals a rotor design representing the master rod and two articulated conrods of this legendary aircraft engine.

Lot 6: Heure Zoulou Air-Sports Watch, Donated by The Lyrique Group
The Lyrique Heure Zoulou (Zulu Hour) Air-Sports watch celebrates the air races of the 1930s combined with the Zulu timing used in 21st Century flying. With an all-new bespoke movement by Agenhor (AGH-6850), the Heure Zoulou not only has the standard hours and minutes, it also has a second hour hand for the Zulu hour based on GMT/UTC time. The Zulu arm is a retrograde hand set with a pusher at 4 o'clock.
The steel case is 40mm wide and 11.8 thick. The dial, designed by Matthieu Allègre, pays homage to the sepia-toned photography of the 1930s and the checkerboard decoration on the air-racing pylons. The Heure Zoulou assegai hands are modeled after Zulu throwing spears. The 20mm lug-width two-tone textile and leather straps continue the sporty attitude of the watch, ready for the next air race.

Lot 7: Dinner with Jean-Claude Biver, Donated by Biver Watches
Jean-Claude Biver is a Swiss watch industry legend who revitalized Blancpain, Omega, Hublot, and TAG Heuer. Known for his bold marketing and innovation, he helped shape modern luxury watchmaking. After a brief retirement, he launched his eponymous brand, dedicated to high-end artisanal watchmaking.

Lot 8: Omakase Experience with Chef Daisuke Nakazawa, Donated by Grand Seiko
A private dinner for two hosted by Grand Seiko at their new Flagship Boutique in New York at 540 Madison Ave. in their downstairs VIP omakase bar with dinner curated by renowned Chef Daisuke Nakazawa. Chef Daisuke Nakazawa is the Owner/Chef of the eponymous Sushi Nakazawa in New York City, which has been open since 2013 and has received a Michelin Star as well as three New York Times Stars. Chef Nakazawa apprenticed at Sukiyabashi Jiro under Jiro Ono for 11 years and appeared in the David Gelb’s documentary “Jiro Dreams of Sushi”.
The experience will include an omakase crafted by Nakazawa himself, premium sake and whisky native to Grand Seiko's two hometowns, and an opportunity to view some of the most rare and desirable timepieces from Grand Seiko with brand curator Joe Kirk. Date and time would be within 2025, but determined based on the winner’s preference and Chef Nakazawa’s availability.

Lot 9: Dinner with Roger W. Smith OBE, Donated by One White Street
This 19th-century townhouse, once the downtown hangout for John Lennon and Yoko Ono, has been transformed into a destination of culinary excellence. One White Street is a seasonal, farm to table, neighborhood restaurant in Tribeca, New York City from Chef Austin Johnson. This Michelin stared restaurant recently added a Michelin Green Star for sustainable practices.
Join Roger W. Smith OBE for a private dinner. Date & time to be mutually agreed upon. Smith is recognized as one of the greatest watchmakers of the modern era and was the only apprentice and collaborator of the late Dr. George Daniels.

Lot 10: A Chronomètre Souverain Wall Clock, Donated by F.P. Journe
This elegant wall clock captures the distinctive aesthetic of F.P. Journe’s Chronomètre Souverain wristwatch. The clock features the same striking dial design as its inspiration, complete with F.P. Journe’s signature blue steel hands and bold black numerals. The 41 centimeter polished case beautifully complements the intricate guilloché pattern on the white dial, enhancing its appeal.
This wall clock serves as both a distinguished decorative piece and a tribute to one of modern horology’s greatest independent watchmakers.

Lot 11: HSNY Lifetime Membership Card, Made and Donated by Memoria Technica
This portrait-style gilded Lifetime Membership card, crafted by Memoria Technica, is manufactured from sterling silver. Hand-guillochéd by Brittany Nicole Cox, it features an original straight-line pattern inset with a 24k gold wire cloisonné enamel cabochon, also by Cox. This cabochon, featuring a traditional bird and flower motif, captures a scene that once served as a common method of telling time—the pairing of specific birds and flowers in their natural habitats. These scenes have been commemorated in renowned artworks across Asia, embodying a central aspect of Asia's cultural heritage. The fine machining of the card, cabochon setting, and lettering was done by Memoria Technica’s, Trent LaCour.
This card grants the owner lifetime membership privileges at HSNY, including all aspects of all current and future membership levels.

One hundred percent of proceeds from the sale of these items will benefit HSNY’s ongoing educational initiatives, including supporting watchmaking students with scholarships. Absentee bids may be submitted in advance of the auction via email to info@hs-ny.org, and will be accepted until 5PM EDT, Friday March 21, 2025. Please note that all absentee bids submitted are final and may not be cancelled once confirmed. By submitting a bid, you accept personal liability to pay the total purchase price including all applicable charges and taxes.
Buyers may be entitled to claim a charitable contribution deduction for the hammer price, but such deduction will be limited to the excess of the hammer price paid for the lot over its fair market value. Inaccordance with applicable IRS regulations, HSNY has provided a good faith estimate of the fair market value for each lot which is the mean of the pre-sale estimates relating to that lot. Buyers will have until December 31, 2025, inclusively, to indicate to HSNY in an email to info@hs-ny.org expressing their wish to benefit from this charitable contribution deduction. Buyers are advised to discuss their particular tax circumstances with their independent tax advisors to determine whether a charitable contribution deduction is available, including residency eligibility under applicable laws to determine if a charitable deduction is available in any jurisdiction outside the United States.
